Our Mission
To ensure ALL children, with or without disabilities, are provided with equitable access, opportunity, and resources necessary to live a successful, fulfilled, post-secondary life.
Because All Children Matter.
After spending over a decade as a special education teacher, Kristen Flannery, M.Ed., Founder of L&F Educational Associates, LLC, recognized the need to take a broader, more systemic stance on equity in public education. Through her work, she saw how families and schools alike often need clearer guidance, stronger systems, and better collaboration to ensure students receive meaningful educational access.
Kristen founded L&F Educational Associates to bridge these gaps—developing policies, procedures, and services designed to empower families, support districts, and promote equitable outcomes for all students, with and without disabilities.
Our Mission
Our work is guided by a three-fold mission:
• To empower students and families with the knowledge, tools, and strategies needed to participate as informed, equal partners in educational planning and decision-making.
• To support educational agencies in identifying, developing, and implementing improvement strategies that strengthen student and family voice, choice, and engagement—leading to more effective services and stronger post-secondary outcomes.
• To strengthen the impact of educational advocacy and consultation through professional development and coaching that builds capacity, clarity, and sustainable practice.

Founder & Lead Educational Advocate/Consultant
Kristen Flannery is a Massachusetts-licensed special education teacher with over a decade of classroom experience across PreK–12. She founded L&F Educational Associates, LLC to support both families and school districts in navigating special education with clarity, collaboration, and informed practice.
Through L&F Educational, Kristen works directly with families to help them understand their child’s needs, participate meaningfully in special education planning, and advocate for appropriate services. She also partners with districts through consulting and professional development, supporting staff in identifying growth areas and strengthening systems to better meet the needs of today’s learners.
Kristen’s work is grounded in real-world school experience and a belief that strong outcomes are built when families and schools are supported, informed, and working toward shared goals.
Educational Advocacy for Families
Navigating the education system can be complex, especially for families of students with disabilities. At L&F Educational Associates, our educational advocates are licensed educators with over a decade of experience working in public schools.
We support families in understanding special education processes, interpreting educational records, and preparing for important conversations and decisions. Our role is to help families advocate effectively for their child’s individual needs while ensuring that services and placements are aligned with what the child requires to access their education.
Through informed, student-centered advocacy, we empower families with the knowledge and guidance needed to participate confidently and meaningfully in their child’s educational planning.
Consultation Services for Districts
School communities are navigating increasingly complex student needs and evolving educational demands. At L&F Educational Associates, we partner with school districts to provide thoughtful, customized consulting services that strengthen special education practices and support the needs of today’s learners.
Our consulting work focuses on helping districts identify key areas for growth, build staff capacity, and develop practical strategies that support students, educators, and school leaders. Through targeted consultation and professional development, we work collaboratively with district teams to create responsive learning environments and strengthen family and community engagement.
Our approach is grounded in real-world school experience and a shared commitment to improving systems in ways that are sustainable, student-centered, and aligned with district goals.
